The 2nd annual East Los Angeles Community Job Fair took place on Wednesday, April 26th 2017 at our East Los Angeles Community Service Center.
Over 30 direct-hire employers hosted tables at the event advertising job openings and conducting on-the-spot interviews. More than 200 job seekers were in attendance and applied for job vacancies at the on-site resource tables and computer lab.
Job seekers were provided with an array of resources to help them access training opportunities and prepare for their job search. A series of workshops, hosted by the Department of Consumer & Business Affairs and WDACS, taught attendees about money management and how to apply for LA County jobs.
Overall, the job fair was a great success and Job Development Cluster 6 looks forward to organizing another successful event next year.
The event was organized by The Job Development Cluster 6 Team, which includes Lost Angeles County Departments (Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services; Public Social Services; Consumer and Business Affairs; and Mental Health) and partner organizations (LA County Office of Education, Department of Rehabilitation, Employment Development Department, Southern California Resource Services for Independent Living, and the LA County and South Bay Workforce Development Boards). The event was co-sponsored by The Office of Supervisor Hilda L. Solis.
