On November 19, 2016, County of Los Angeles Community and Senior Services and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will host a graduation ceremony at the Hall of Justice for the increasingly successful Public Safety Youth Career Program. This program was created to prepare youth from underrepresented populations for entry-level positions and careers with the County of Los Angeles, especially in public safety. The program will see 40 young people graduate with their hearts set on making a difference in public service for the present and future of the County.
The graduation will reinforce the County’s ongoing commitment to provide life-changing employment opportunities to prepare the County’s youth for future careers, including those seeking to make a positive influential difference through public service careers. Chief of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, James J. Hellmold, and Captain Ernest Chavez will be speakers at the graduation ceremony.
